Bradshaw announces jobs boost for young people (including jobs run by NDotM)

Stratford CircusMore than 600 new jobs in the cultural, creative and sport sectors were announced by Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw today, in a range of projects aimed at getting young people out of unemployment and onto the first rung of the career ladder.

Future Jobs Fund money is today confirmed for jobs around England and Wales in sectors as diverse as theatres and music venues, digital archiving, media production and the furthering the Olympic sporting legacy.

Turning creative ideas into money

Wah NailsDid you know that it’s Enterprise Week? On Tuesday 18 November Martin Bright, NDotM’s founder, chaired a seminar at the University of the Arts titled ‘Turning Creative Ideas into Money’ stressing the need for an entrepreneurial spirit in the creative industries. This was part of a series of events organised by Enterprise Centre for the Creative Arts (ECCA) for Global Enterprise Week.

Unemployment figures out tomorrow are expected to show a continuing rise in the number of people out of work, with summer school leavers and graduates adding to the 2.5 million recorded last month.
