The Guardian Media supplement today dedicates its front page to the “degree of despair” that is blighting the new generation of fledgling journalists. It reports on the bleak employment prospects that this year’s journalism graduates are facing as media companies across the board continue to cut back on training and recruitment budgets in the name of economic prudence.
