NDotM Pop-Up Centres
NDotM will make use of abandoned commercial properties, empty shops and other buildings and convert these spaces into cultural and artistic spaces for people to use.
The Centres will allow creative professionals to share space and knowledge with the next generation of young entrpreneurs and artists .
As well as workspace and mentoring, NDotM Pop-Up Centres will provide employment and business advice for young innovators and creative people, in partnership with Job Centre Plus, Connexions and university careers services. These centres could also include exhibition and rehearsal space, access to “virtual” lectures and seminars from leading artists, designers, musicians and entrepreneurs. We think they’ll become a focal cultural point of the community for everyone.
NDotM will run each Pop-Up Centre as a social enterprise. Social enterprises are profit-making social or environmental businesses that get their income from business trading rather than relying upon subsidies or donations. So, we would raise funds by selling the work of artists, mounting exhibitions, holding performances and renting the space to other users in the local community.
