Lord Carter defends Digital Britain
Lord Carter has hit back at critics of the Government’s Digital Britain Report published last week. He has defended the report’s proposals and argues that if you want something, someone has to pay for it.

Digital Britain Report: a lukewarm response?
The Government’s recently published Digital Britain Report has by all accounts received a lukewarm response. At just under 250 pages, the Carter Report is an exhaustive dissection of Britain’s media and technology landscape. It has however been criticised for being too short on detailed measures and a little too long on waffle. (more…)

Office National Statistics/ unemployment
Office of National Statistics: Joblessness at 12-year high
New statistics released by the Office of National Statistics make for worrisome reading. Unemployment in the UK has risen to 2.261 million (7.2%) in the three months to April, the highest since November 1996. It seems the greenshoots of economic recovery have yet to truly take root. (more…)
